Survey Department Manager

EKA Associates, P.A. is currently looking for an experienced individual to join our Land Surveying Field Crew. We are seeking individuals to fill Crew Chief positions and Transit Operator positions. Job Description:The Survey Department Manager will lead and oversee the survey department. You will be responsible for resolution of field data for the preparation of a variety of surveying projects including title surveys, topographic surveys and utility surveys. Prepare accurate budget estimates and cost proposals for clients. Prepare metes and bounds descriptions and provide CAD (AutoCAD/Civil 3D) and field support as needed. You will also be responsible for scheduling and dispatching field crews to project sites daily. We have state of the art robotic equipment and GNSS/GPS. This position requires you to supervise others while taking direction from our Licensed Land Surveyor.
Job Functions:• Communicate with clients and estimate surveying projects.• Resolve field date and prepare AutoCAD drawings for drafting technician.• Review completed surveys for errors and completeness.• Manage and schedule field crews.• Fill in for field personnel when needed. • Prepare and check property descriptions.

This is a physically demanding position that involves:• Digging for property evidence with shovels and pry bars• Walking over uneven, sloped terrain• Carrying Field equipment• Long hours on your feet• Possibly the lifting of storm/sanitary manholes, storm/sanitary grates, or inlet grates (50-100 pounds)• Hammering stakes and lathe into the ground
Qualifications:• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.• Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are required for this role.• Proficiency in AutoCAD required.

Land Surveying Crew/Party Chief

EKA Associates, P.A. is currently looking for experienced individuals to join our Land Surveying Team. We are seeking individuals to fill a Crew Chief position with a focus on completing projects in a timely manner. We have great opportunities for growth within the company. Job Description:The Field Crew Chief will collect field measurements and data, provide stake-out at the direction of the Survey Manager. You will be responsible for collecting all required field data for the preparation of a variety of surveying projects including title surveys, topographic surveys and utility surveys. We have state of the art robotic equipment and GNSS/GPS. This position requires you to work independently and supervise others when working on larger projects.
Job Functions:• Prepare field notes. Photographs and sketches• Collect boundary and topographic field measurements • Responsible for downloading conventional and GPS field data• Recover and measure real property evidence• Perform construction layout• Ability to rotate and calculate survey points in the field• Oversee the training and development of junior field technicians
Qualifications• Must enjoy working outdoors twelve (12) months out of the year in all weather conditions• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and follow instructions.• Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are required for this role.• Proficiency in AutoCAD a plus but not required.

Civil Engineer (EIT Required)

EKA Associates, P.A. is seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT Required), with 3-5+ years of experience, to join our firm as part of our team.
The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable with civil design to support residential and commercial development projects throughout the State of New Jersey; He or she must be able to conduct tasks independently in regards to standard engineering design.
Qualifications:• Bachelor's in Science - Civil Engineering Curriculum (Required)• EIT (Required)• 3-5 years of Design Experience (Required)• 3-5 years AutoCAD Experience (Required)
Job Description: Roles & Responsibilities• Basic design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design AutoCad• Preparation of full development plans including site layout, grading and drainage, soil erosion and sediment control and details• Site meetings and site visits• Soil permeability testing and logging• Participate in design meetings and team member coordination• Utility coordination, stormwater management, njdep flood hazard area compliance, resolution compliance, cost estimates• Prepare Zoning Analyses of local municipal land use ordinances
